ARCLIGHT COMMUNICATIONS
Arclight Communications is an independent record label based in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The label supports bands ranging in style from ambient noise to progressive hardcore. The label also shares its name with Operation Arclight, an aerial bombing campaign that was carried out during the Vietnam War. The typography in the identity is comprised of 27 horizontal lines, an abstract reference to the number of planes that flew in the first Operation Arclight mission. The mark also implies the varying levels shown on the volume displays of audio devices. This duality also appears in the yellow grid with 750 small squares making an abstract reference to the number of bombs dropped during the first Arclight mission. The squares also visually capture the rich layers that the bands on the label achieve in their music.
