Great Lakes Brewing Co. is a Cleveland, Ohio based brewery and restaurant that produces five beers as well as several other seasonal beers and pub exclusives. The Dortmunder Gold line is based on a lager recipe from Dortmund, Germany. According to Bavarian Purity Laws from the 1500's, the beer is made with all natural ingredients to keep the recipe as authentic as possible. The design aesthetic is reminiscent of classic German design to reflect the authenticity of the Dortmunder recipe. Great Lakes is also a very environmentally conscious company, so the packaging is composed of post-consumer materials.
